Founded in March 2023, Chroma Energy Group is a firm that operates nationwide with a focus on solar installation while having an eye toward future growth into additional renewable energy sources and products, including renewable energy storage systems and other clean technology initiatives.
Chroma has rapidly scaled, establishing a robust portfolio of over 120 megawatts in solar, battery storage projects and contracting services across diverse sectors including federal government entities, utility, industrial and commercial clients.
With a team of certified in-house solar photovoltaic (PV) installers and experts, Chroma Energy Group can design and install commercial solar panels and arrays, microgrids, utility scale solar projects, EV chargers and more. Our projects, currently concentrated in the Southeast, reflect our mission to revolutionizing energy consumption in Knoxville and East Tennessee.

Dedicated Professionals Driving Clean Energy Solutions
Before founding Chroma, Ed served as the Chief Operating Officer for Stowers Machinery – one of the top five Caterpillar distributors in North America. During his tenure, the company achieved 43% market share, which is #2 in North America, and three consecutive Caterpillar gold-level awards for operational excellence.
Ed earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Kentucky and his master’s in business administration at Vanderbilt University. He serves as board president for the historic Tennessee Theatre, Men of Valor and the Tennessee Road Builders Association.
Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and entrepreneurship at the University of Tennessee.
Jacob earned his bachelor’s degree in biosystems engineering at the University of Tennessee.
Outside of work, she loves staying active and sharing her energy with others by teaching dance fitness classes. Whether crunching numbers or leading a class, Beth brings enthusiasm, precision, and a little bit of rhythm to everything she does.
Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and rhetoric from Wabash College. He also earned a teaching license at Colorado State University, before teaching high school physics and computer science.
Tom holds certifications in computer-aided design, surveying and rough terrain forklift operation. He is a certified stormwater pollution prevention plan inspection inspector and OMAX Water-Jetting Systems inspector. He’s also an OSHA 30-hour course certified trainer.
Elmer maintains Chroma’s installed systems, as well as the Chroma warehouse. He also operates piledriving equipment for solar racking systems.
